National nature reserve
This stone city lying near from Teplice nad Metují is spectacular for it´s remarkable vertical stone walls. This area is divided by a deep Vlčí ravine from the Adršpach stone city (each city is accesible from the other by marked touriste pathways). Teplické rocks are approachable by a circuit (6km long) very well marked and complemented by numerous information pannels of the trail. The visitor will thus have the unique chance to learn about the history of the sandstone formations and the discovering of those. Also about tourism, mountineering and the organic or anorganic nature. The text information is supplemented with vivid photos and illustrations.
A fee is to be paid prior to entering the circuit. All stone formations are fittingly named and marked by directional arrows. The visitor can in the Teplické rocks therefore see for example the Skalní koruna (stone crown), Krakonošovo párátko (Krakonoš´s pick), Medvěd (Bear), Hláska, Golem or other. The most significant of all san0dstone formations are the Chrámové and Martinské walls.
Climbing is firmly restricted to only for this purpose marked areas and under certain rules. The administration of the Broumovsko protected landscape area appeals to the climbers to obey these rules-most importantly the prohibition to entre and climb in areas for this purpose unmarked.
