Churches of the so-called Broumov Group were built and scattered about the territory of the Monastery Demesne according to  K. Dientzenhofer and his son Ignac's plans at the beginning of the 18th century. They are indisputably considered to be real baroque pearls of the region. Each church of this group is an architectural jewel. These churches were built in order to replace the older network of wooden churches. All the churches were built in a relatively short period of time, i.e. between 1709 and 1743. The instigator of the project was Abbot Otmar Zinke – a representative of the Benedictine Břevnov-Broumov Abbey. Thanks to his efforts, not only the churches were built at that time but also some small sacral objects scattered around the countryside such as wayside shrines, statues, sculptures, Calvaries etc.
